Absolutely.
Eye candy obviously
Good info but here’s the question: If it passes the initial taste test, what is the criteria for a good walk out song? Is it the song alone? I have to argue that context plays a part - i.e. a Mexican fighter walking out to mariachi as a nod to his culture or, inversely, a Ukrainian fighter walking to mariachi as a dig against a culture other than his own? There’s so many ways to slice this pie.I know it's not EXACTLY the standard but my mental rule is if I can either name it outright, or I can sing the refrain from it than it's a no-go.
You've caught on to the finer points of this game very quicklyGood info but here’s the question: If it passes the initial taste test, what is the criteria for a good walk out song? Consider this as a primer to a rant I’ll make if I score poorly.

I figured as much. I just enjoy the ripe possibility of subjective outrage. I’m sure the results will inspire some heat. This round is purely subjective. It all comes down to whether or not the judges would personally consider your pick for their walkout song.
I knew you'd like it hereI love the nuance. Such a fun deep dive into the grey.
ah yes. in opposite to all of thise objective rounds... FU!This round is purely subjective. It all comes down to whether or not the judges would personally consider your pick for their walkout song.

You might not hear me, because i have to scream all the way up the ladder!

It.. is still subjective.Hey, some rounds are (supposed to be) more objective than others. Say the category had been more like: "Submit a song that you think would fit the bill as a UFC fighter's walkout song. Provide a write-up explaining your pick." But this is just: "Submit a song that would get the judge's hyped during their walkout if they were a fighter." Now it's just, "I liked it," or, "That is shit!"

I need some clarification on the judge's scoring criteria. Let's say the judge feels like they've heard the song in the past, but can't, from their own memory, recall what the song is? Does that lose points or no?
It’s always been in the past that some judges feel like they could be familiar with the song in a sense, but can’t place it for certain so with that they wouldn’t get docked 5 points.
I think they have to be 100% certain that they’ve heard the song before and know it, rather than may have?
Yeah if there's some doubt, there will be no penalty. -5 point is a huge chunk, and judge will only penalize if they are absolutely sureConsistent with I'm thinking. If it just sounds a bit familiar, I'm not docking it, but if I've heard it for sure, there you go.
Yeah if there's some doubt, there will be no penalty. -5 point is a huge chunk, and judge will penalize if they are absolutely sure or like to watch the Teletubbies
It.. is still subjective.
Judges will use more words, but it stays as subjective.
At least to everyone who are not the son of god.
let's see, if i make it that far"supposed to be"
I've definitely seen, several times, where it was noted by a judge that they personally hated a submission but scored it well based off criteria.
