ESPN is currently featuring some sort of softball world series. They just got done with a couple of weeks of flag football.
Being on ESPN does not guarantee being "known," that's for sure.
I would have absolutely nuked the Manhoef/Santos fight, those were household names among non-casual fans, everyone knows/knew them.

As soon as I saw Buckey was judging, I knew something like that would occur. DWD's verbiage about paychecks seems to me to be clearly not part of the criteria, and was just descriptive of the category and was basically flavor text. I don't think there was a single mention of paycheck size anywhere else in anyone's judging. And yes, if he thinks they really get a full million, he clearly has not been paying attention to Piffle.He docked you for much Schulte made on the fight. Maybe we should educate on how Piffle REALLY does that "million dollar" payout.
Schulte, who I would bet the majority of his Instagram followers are bots. (100K followers, but the top reel of him getting the belt from MIKE TYSON has only 10K likes and 100 comments). The dude is definitely obscure and that doesn't change just because Dong Davies was throwing around the Saudi money.

I remembered the Manhoef/Santos fight when I saw it here.
I didn't remember the Piffle fight, and I have been a regular Piffle
The only thing I distinctly remember about Schulte was he got absolutely fucked out of the playoffs when Piffle decided they didn't like his last fight, arbitrarily made up a reason to boot him, and Shane Burgos just HAPPENED to take that spot despite not otherwise qualifying.
(And Fraudulent Franny the Fighter Advocate was silent for all of this despite being tagged several times by Schulte asking for help)

A UFC fight could qualified if the fighters were just relatively unknown. And do you realize how few people actually watch Piffle now, let alone in 2019? Piffle was barely covered by MMA media in 2019.
And they absolutely were "little guys". Look up their names and see how much coverage they get. Are you going to tell me that you recognized their names? And knew about their other fights?
