I'm not sure why everyone is hating, this is much better than having Belfort and BJ Pen getting effed up by 25 year olds. Im for it!

I'd rather see 3 - 3 minute rounds. No knees/elbows/kicks. So basically combat ju-jitsu. Warmaster will rule Valhalla.

There is some irony with this, the middle weight champ is 38, his last defence was against a 46 year (say what you want about it's legitemacy, that fight was the definition of competitive), the number one contender is I think 39 and many of the contenders are in their 30's; the LHW champ is what 38, many of the contenders are in their 30's; Stipe is 34, again many of the contenders are in their 30's; Tyron Woodley is about to turn 35, once again many of the contenders are in their 30's...I was about to type that this is less pronounced in the lower divisions, but I have just done a quick check of ages via the UFC rankings page and of the top 4 guys in those lighter divisions only Garbrandt, Holloway, Conor and Khabib are under 30.
Basically it's not really a young mans sport, firstly to master one martial art can take many, many years, to master several only adds to that, also the sport as it is now, is not taken up in massive numbers by the very young, unlike a lot of other main stream sports, so it stands to reasons that there will be a highish peak aggregate...I also don't think the body has to deteriorate in the way some would have it, obviously this is highly individualized, but I do think the body can preserve better then is often thought.

I've always been a fan of a Legends division, a place for aged but healthy fighters to duke it out and make some cash while entertaining the fans and give a place for the legends that fought for next to nothing. Let's these guys fight without clouding the title picture and a bit safer facing equal competition. I think shorter rounds actually make sense too, 3 minute rounds are perfect. It could be really well marketed, lots of history there and footage. If done correctly, with healthier fighters who pass the extra medicals, than it makes sense. Age wise 40-50 would be ideal.
A smart UFC would pit their proteges up against each other!

I would watch all these fights but Serra/Almeida are both Renzo guys, I don't think it could happen.
With Matt Hughes in the talks with Bellator I could see the UFC actually doing this Legends League thing. It would practically kill Bellator and WSOF. All they have is the odd new prospects and veteran fighters. If Tito/Chael pulled in 1.2 viewers it could be a profitable idea. We know the new UFC wants to pay off that 4.2b billion they spent.
I have to say that I would watch these fights but I'm against brain damage that could be prevented. Guys like Penn have taken far too much damage at the end of his career.

I also heard Hughes was eyeing a comeback fight. I'm guessing his ADCC match with Renzo didn't pan out.
