I'll never understand the thought process behind cutting guys like Uriah Hall. Name recognition is such an important factor in promoting fights. Hall has it, and now the UFC is about to cut him?
How about developing your big name prospects and give them some leeway? That's what they do in other sports.

If Hall loses another fight, he's going to start a steady decline into obscurity. Same thing happened to Phillipe Nover. Let him go back to the regional circuit and cut his teeth. The UFC is filled to bursting and really, with a 0-3 record in the UFC, he's just taking up space.
This is all
if
he loses. And if he loses to Leben, he really doesn't deserve to be in the UFC.

Yeah, let him at least go 0-10. And when he's 0-11, ask him if he wants a back rub or a foot massage or if he just wants to be loved and needs a hug.

Must be a slow week.. First Riddle is back (Not a surprise) and now Hall will be cut if he goes 0-3 (also not a surprise).
In other news, the earth is round.

I dont think halls skills are the problem. I just think hes mentally weak and just doesnt have the kind of attitude you need for a fighter. It seems like he wants to win while doing the least amount of damage to his opponent. Thats a bad mentality to have as a fighter. He needs to get mean. The guy across from you isnt your friend, hes not nice, he wants to f--- you up and take money out of your pocket while pushing you down the ladder. You need to wanna kick his head off and bust him up before you choke the s--- out of him. If your goal isnt to be the best and win the title, your in the wrong sport. Hes best suited for bellator. Hes a striker, and bellator loves 2 things. Strikers and russians.

f--- that.. Name recognition? The only people that know who he is are ones on this site or other MMA sites. He should have been cut after his last hug fight.

Actually, that would be pretty significant news:

I can't believe they would cut Uriah. He's the first "next Anderson Silva" since Phillipe Nover.

In TUF he had a fortunate run which included a smaller guy in Adam Cella who matched him skills-wise until the KO moment, a mentally beaten guy in Bubba and then a semi against a clearly injured Dylan Andrews.
I picked Gastellum to beat him but would you guys listen to good science? No, too mesmerised by Dana's excited ramblings and 4,628 replays of the Cella KO to see sense.

Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Gastellum, but I'll be damned if Hall's dynamism against possibly ovrmatched opponents wasn't impressive to watch. It's hard to simply look past that kind of dominance. Also, the skill is
there!
That's why watching Hall fight is so damn frustrating!
I suppose not all of us possess your level of clairvoyance, we bow to your superior analytical skill.

How exactly are you a "big name" going 0-3 in 3 fights? No one will care about this guy if he loses to Leben...hell I don't think many care about him now after the hug fest with Howard.

How about a little patience? Peyton Manning as a rookie was an awful QB. But the franchise stood by him and developed him. Can't you do the same with guys like Hall? At this stage in Uriah Hall's career, he shouldn't be in a "do or die" fight.

This isn't a team sport. You cannot compare pro athletes from two completely different sports. There is absolutely no comparison. Why should Hall get special treatment? Its not as if a boot from the UFC will end his career, he'll simply have to work his way into the UFC like everyone else who didn't come through the TUF house. 3 chances is plenty in this sport.

Nope. He hasn't performed whatsoever. If he loses to Leben he's wasting a roster spot.

No it's not. It's flat. I'm trying to find a quick route from Spain to the India spice market.

My point is that rookies, 1st round picks, top prospects, etc.... usually should get some leeway early on in their careers.
Dana White aint so patient. He's proven time and time again that he's impulsive and has a quick trigger finger.
Uriah Hall is a naturally gifted athlete that has the tools to become great. But that's not going to happen when Dana puts pressure on him by saying "he's not a fighter" and then puts him on notice that his UFC days might be numbered. Doing things like that is not good for Uriah and is not good for the UFC.

1. He has had two opportunities and is being given a third. That is more than enough "leeway".
2. Dana doesn't make those decisions.
3. Nor is it going to happen by gifting him opportunities.
4. Pressure is part of the job.
5. He isn't a fighter.
6. It's just fine for the UFC, plenty more where he came from and if Uriah wants to prove he has what it takes, he has to earn it just like everyone else... well... except maybe in Bellator.

I still say this fight ends in the second round when Hall and Leben decide to elope. Hall is going to turn 'The Crippler' into 'The Cuddler'.
