he trie, he just dont have the skills but definity he improve from hsi days in elite and youtube, i think kimbo needs to keep training and in mma, he earn the respetc from alot of people and he even got a ufc win, that nobody can take away from him.
i hope he fights soon, maybe dream or strikeforce, i think sf would be smart if he gets him, he will never be a champ but he definity took the respect by training and growing and he will always get the atention and ratings and that help in fight cards because that makes others to see the card and get to see others figthers, like it happen in this ufc card, know everybody is talking about shogun

I pretty much hated the hype he was getting in Elite but i always respected his attitude, and when i saw him on TUF and actually going for the take down and subs, it brought about a respect for him that i didnt have before.

I gotta say, I really started to like Kimbo, once we really saw who he was, and what he was about. He knew that he was a brawler, trying to become an MMA fighter, but he did almost EVERYTHING right.
- He knew his weakness in his game, and worked with a GREAT group at ATT to improve. We saw that in both of his UFC fights. Learned some submission defense and offense, and learned takedowns.
- Knew his only way into the UFC was through TUF, and made Dana eat his words. Kimbo was already exposed to the national stage with Elite, and instead of running to Japan for freak fights, he went to TUF, where he had to work, and earn his way in.
- Humble guy, and pretty funny. Joked around a bit, but knew he wasnt the best in the house, and knew he had a target on his back because of who he was.
All in all, I hope to see Kimbo fight again. Maybe after seeing what can be done about his bad knees.

I wouldn't buy it as a PPV but if it poped up on cable I'd have to give it a look. Inevitably the striking would balance out and we would get 3 rounds of lay and pray. The first 3 rounds that either of these guys had ever done on purpose.

I hope he gets some good fights down the road maybe in Japan with Dream or Sengoku. Possibly Strikeforce if they put him in against the right guys.

I was honestly surprised by the first round. Kimbo had slams, he had better punching and he got out of triangles and chokes. The reality is that sure, any fighter can take the safe road and just hack him at the knees and make him quit that way, and that's what Mitrione and Roy Nelson did.
I think i'm more disappointed by those fighters than i am with him. At least Seth Petruzelli had the balls to fight Kimbos game and knocked him out.
And this from a person who couldn't care one way or the other about Slice.

This is a good point. He was doing well regardless of gassing before he was chopped down.

I give Kimbo a lot of credit. It takes a big set of brass, in my opinion, to go onto TUF when every other fighter there had heard what Dana White had said about Kimbo. Which, basically put a target on his back - and I don't mean -only- a target for those other fighters to beat in a match, but for ridicule.
If I remember correctly most fighters in the house came away with the thought the Kimbo was a nice and humble guy. I also thought that. He really wanted to learn the game. And it was quite obvious that DW had a change of heart when he got to know Kimbo.
That being said, I don't think Kimbo was ever going to get the conditioning to be a UFC fighter.
