I'm not sure how it's silly, Florian beat Nunes, who is regarded as a top FW..and then went the distance with Aldo, which not many guys have done.

Florian beat Nunes, but it wasn't an impressive victory. He didn't look like the Kenflo we would see at 155 that we thought DESERVED a shot at a title. And only Manny and Brown have been finished by Aldo in his run as the champ. Other than that, any tough fighter that Aldo faces he takes them to the distance

Either way you look at it, he's still more skilled and has beaten the better competition...and made it look easy. And besides, we're talking like 1-2 spot difference in the rankings...it's really not that big a deal.

Well actually the way I look at it yet is Aldo hasn't even faced the most threatening guys in his division in Mendes and Hioki while Cruz has beaten the BW's that no other BW's can seem to beat these days (well, Faber OR Bowles will lose this weekend). I think top BW's have much more rounded skillsets than the FW division who have a lot of guys who seem to be really good in one area in MMA and just "improving" in other aspects (IMO)
Aldo is above cruz probably due to finishes. Aldo finishes more so than Cruz. Also, he's more popular. P4P isn't only based on skill which it should be, it's also factored in with Popularity, which makes it imperfect. Also, P4P lists are all opinion, and no P4P list will ever be truly perfect.
Oh and there's a P4P thread somewhere buried in this forum.
Anyone who thought cruz lost to joe ben has no business watching the sport much less calling themselves a fan of it. I would seriously question their ability to compute visual data. Same with the faber fight.
So, the consensus answer is Cruz lacks knock outs and has too many decisions? That sucks. Rank should revolve solely around skill and the level of comp hes faced. No wonder silva is ranked so high...even though 9/10 of the ops hes fought are located in the recylcle bin.

I pointed out that Aldo's domination > Cruz's close decisions. If that's all u have to say about it, you have no business arguing in a mma forum (hah ! jk with you).

I think it is also a consensus that Aldo has a better skill-set overall.

Telling people that they have no business watching the sport followed by the attempts at bashing Anderson Silva.
