Ed Soares just said that during the 113 countdown. Just thought it was funny seeing as Aldo just did.

He is ignoring the fact that Rua also landed more punches. No surprise as the comments on this fight from the Black House camp have never been close to the truth.

There's a huge difference between Aldo's leg kicks against Faber and Shogun's against Machida. If Shogun was landing clean, effective leg kicks, Machida would have been in in worse condition than Faber.

Sort of out of context.. He said to beat the champion and to take someones belt you need to do more than that.
Can't wait for 113 for all the Shogun/Machida talk to stop

well seeing how the judging criteria includes, "effective striking"; i would say that making your opponent swich stances away from his pounded leg and leaving visible damage to the leg would be considered effective striking... so yeah... you can win a fight just by kicking someone in the leg... Soares = Fail...

Call me crazy but I think Soares might be a tad biased.

Effective striking = Shogun
Effective grappleing= Machida for the TD stuffs I could agree with
Aggressiveness= Shogun
Octogon Control= shogun/machida- either way, Shogun was fighting his fight but Machida again stuffed some TD's- I got Shogun however because I see what he did fighting his fight bigger than a few stuffed half hearted TD's from Shogun.
Not in the rules but Damage is something you cannot overlook. Shogun could have fought another 5 rounder and Machida was done in the 4th. I like Diaz's rule where he says whoever looks like they have more in them at the end of the fight is the winner if it goes to the cards.

Jackson Vs. Griffin is another good example of a close fight coming down to effective leg kicks on the judge's score cards...

Octagon Control goes to Shogun. He was advancing much much more, and alot of those "failed" takedown attempts turned into a coture-esque Press n' Pray coupled with knees...

i gave octogon control to Shogun like I said. I was just looking for a reason somehow for a judge to give it to MAchida, and all he did was stuff some TD's for the case, which I said, I didnt think was enough.

Octagon control goes to Machida. He decided when and where every exchange took place. Shogun wasn't able to corner him and force him to exchange where he didn't want to. I think too many people are under the impression that moving forward means you're in control.

yeah, faber likes to show to the world how bad he got his *** kicked, Machida doesnt... Dana said (i think it was dana) that machida was the last one to left the post fight conferece to avoid ppl see him not being able to walk straight (not the exact words, something like that)... He was bearly walking out of the cage by himself...MAchidas leg were just as beat up as fabers were... the only difference is that faber took pictures of them and put them on the net...

Why didn't Shogun drop Machida with any of the leg kicks? Post fight means nothing. While in the ring, Machida's leg didn't effect his game nearly as much as Faber's did. Even with Machida's damaged leg, Shogun wasn't able to corner him.

I watched parts of the countdown today between Bellator fights. I liked the part where Machida said he didnt really feel Shoguns kicks, then a minute later said he had problems moving because his legs wouldnt work right.
I want to see both Kimbo and Shogun win. I think both of them are being underrated in this card.

he said he didnt feel the kicks to the body not that he didnt feel any kicks....and did you also like how it showed that lyoto was landing twice everytime shogun landed one of his strikes during the first three rounds...almost sweeping him on multiple occasions?
