WAR

How about go fuck yourself? While you enjoy comfort and security while belittling stories of mine that are 100% real, people are suffering. My friend is real and I guess what I've learned is don't share hard truths with this shitty site and the majority of its inhabitants. I wish I could tell you all of her information, but it's not mine to give, and I don't care what any of you think. I'll tell you she is the most beautiful woman I've ever known, she's now in her early twenties, in her second year of University to become a pharmacist near where I'm currently living, just outside D.C. She works, goes to school, and takes care of her brother, who has a rapidly declining case of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. That's how we met. On a site trying to create a drug to combat what killed two of the cousins who lived in our house, one of my brothers, and is slowly dragging her 21 year old brother toward a painful death.
Congratulations!!!

Out of all the made up, self-aggrandizing bullshit you endlessly blather on about and pollute these forums with, this is the most obvious and full of shit you have ever been.

So good job! Go ahead and pat yourself on the back. I'm sure you have plenty of practice doing that.

Do I have the power to ban people yet? I've been here almost six months. Asking for a friend.
See Marty's reply. 25k comments is the way crow set it up.

But let's focus on problem solving.

St. Judes makes this all-terrain wheelchair. it has 3 wheels and is great for people missing a leg. If you have any friends or family in Minnesota they can probably arrange to have one sent to Syria.

You know, Tosh thinks "she" has a monopoly on little brown friends and their sad stories. She does not. I also have a Palestinian friend.

My beautiful, extraordinary, impossibly resilient Palestinian friend—and I hesitate even to call her a *friend*, because what we share transcends the limitations of language, geography, religion, and perhaps even the conventional human understanding of love—has survived things that would make most of you collapse into a puddle of your own privilege.

Her family, quite possibly the kindest and most spiritually enlightened people ever to walk this earth, were bombed out of their ancestral home, a modest 600-year-old dwelling constructed by her great-great-great-grandfather from stones he personally carried from the Jordan River. Inside that home were generations of photographs, priceless family heirlooms, and an olive tree that, according to local oral tradition, had once provided shade to a traveling prophet. All gone.
Reduced to dust by the machinery of geopolitical indifference.

They fled to Syria, where they were displaced again. Then Lebanon. Then Jordan. Then a fourth country whose identity I cannot reveal because doing so would compromise several ongoing humanitarian operations, two diplomatic relationships, and the safety of individuals whose names would be familiar to anyone who follows international affairs. I know people.

I don't say that to impress you. I say it because it's relevant. During their escape, her younger brother, who suffers from an exceptionally aggressive form of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and AIDS, had to be carried across 73 miles of mountainous desert terrain after his wheelchair was destroyed. Her other brother, who is deaf, blind, nonverbal, and has a rare neurological disorder affecting fewer than eleven people worldwide, who also has AIDS,somehow managed to communicate a message of hope by arranging seven pebbles into the shape of a dove. I still cannot type these words without physically trembling.

At one point, the family went eleven days without food, surviving on rainwater, wild thyme, and the sheer force of their love for one another. Her mother, a former pediatric neurosurgeon who had abandoned a promising career to provide free medical care to displaced children, removed her own shoes so her daughter could continue walking. She walked barefoot across broken glass for nine miles. When asked whether her feet hurt, she simply replied, "A mother's pain is a privilege when her children still have a tomorrow."

And yes, before the inevitable chorus of uninformed, morally bankrupt keyboard warriors descends upon me, I understand the conflict. All of it. I've read the history. I've spoken to survivors. I've studied international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, postcolonial theory, regional security architecture, and the intricate sociopolitical dynamics of the Levant. I've personally had conversations with individuals connected to the United Nations, the State Department, and at least one former head of state whose identity I am not at liberty to disclose. So please, spare me your simplistic arguments.

My friend is now 22 years old, attending a prestigious university just outside Washington, D.C., where she is pursuing simultaneous degrees in pharmacology, biomedical engineering, and international humanitarian law.
She maintains a 4.0 GPA. In three disciplines. In her second language. While working four jobs. While caring for her two disabled brothers. While volunteering 30 hours a week at a refugee assistance center. While quietly developing an experimental treatment for the very disease that is slowly killing her youngest sibling.

And somehow, despite all of this, she still finds time to bake traditional Palestinian bread for the unhoused every Sunday morning.

She once gave away her winter coat to a homeless veteran during a blizzard, despite having pneumonia herself. When I asked why, she looked at me with those enormous, impossibly expressive brown eyes and said, "Because warmth is only meaningful when it is shared." I wept. The veteran wept. A nearby police officer removed his hat. A passing stranger began applauding. That's what real humanity looks like.

But what breaks my heart most is that she's afraid to wear her keffiyeh in public. A woman who has survived bombings, starvation, displacement, unimaginable loss, and the slow deterioration of her own brother's body is afraid to wear a piece of fabric representing her heritage.

Now, I know what you're thinking. How did someone like me become involved in all of this?

I rarely discuss it because I've always found public acknowledgment of one's humanitarian contributions to be distasteful. But since so many of you will choose to question my integrity, I suppose I have little choice but to reluctantly explain. Several years ago, I became involved in an international biomedical research consortium investigating treatments for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Not as a physician. Not as a scientist. But as something arguably more important. A human being who cared.

Through a series of circumstances too complicated and sensitive to explain here, I found myself facilitating conversations between researchers, pharmaceutical executives, refugee advocates, and certain individuals within the global intelligence community. I cannot discuss the full extent of my involvement due to nondisclosure agreements. There are people whose lives depend on my discretion.

What I can tell you is that an experimental treatment currently undergoing preliminary evaluation owes at least part of its conceptual foundation to a conversation I had with a researcher at 2:17 a.m. on a Tuesday.

This is #MyStory and my name is #Barnaby

What's the deal with "mileikowski"?
It's the grumpy old man side. I still call "Kaetlyn" Bruce.
nobody calls him that
That's probably why I do.
Herzog isn't gonna screw over one side or the other
I wouldn't assume that he intends that. But he did chair the Labor party as well as led the Zionist Union.
Jus'say',n.
over the other and with Likud winning by quite a margin
They haven't won thoough. As I can daster it as of today it's still looking like a stalemate. Which puts it in Herzogs lap.
And now Bibi says the elections were stolen lol
😄🤣1793207281415.png
He never said we can trust them, quite the opposite.. I'd revert this if he tries to go with Ra'am honestly
Ha ha no. I was just kidding around. Like what if he did.😄

I was inspired by the story of Tosh's friend, I just HAD to make thread to honor such a brave and stunning story.

Please, if you also have a story like "hers" to share, join me here so we can celebrate such brave individuals unmarred by such an ugly thread as "WAR."

These fuckin idiots (the Arabs joint list) celebrated by devoting their election achievements to Palestine and "oocupied Jerusalem" and now they're asking Eisenkot to meet with them and run together FFS fuck that won't happen and shouldn't

With Ra'am that would be acceptable by me even though he's not that zionist the orthodox who don't serve and get benefits aren't either

The Arabs joint list sound like some of the political parties in Russia that were basically propped up by Putin to be lightning rods for stupid ideas. Like Zhirinovsky's 'Russian Nationalist' party and the remnants of the Communist Party. Opposition meant to soak up weirdos so the incumbent keeps the center majority.

I know some of the minority parties made promises but Bibi cares only about staying in power and will shift ideologically from what I've gathered. Chance that some of Eisenkot's faction defect to Bibi in a backroom handshake deal (we won't prosecute you when you finally leave office) and Bibi kicks the Haredim to the curb?

No but you can put people on ignore. I'm not one to say if you're being truthful or not but I can tell you there's thousands of jews who have stories similar to your friend.

It's been the krux of the issue the whole time. Both Bennett and Lieberman have stated that they refuse to build a coalition with the Arab parties. (Rightly so..)
With Golan and the Demz the only ones expressing interest in Alligning with Arabs.Heck they don't really want Eisenkot for that matter. Ffs😄
With Ra'am that would be acceptable.
Agreed. But the only way that happens is if Eisenkot gets the nod and presents a minority cabinet for parliamentary confidence.
Which is a cluster fuck to put it lightly.
And would call for, ,(get this) all Arab parties to agree to abstain from a confidence vote to keep Bennie in power.🤣
WHICH Lieberman has opposed from the outset anyways. So that ain't happening.

Wow. That was quite the reaction. I finally have time now, so let's dive in!

I do enjoy my comfort and security these days, thank you! I feel have I have earned it. My whole life hasn't been lived in full comfort and security. I spent about 7 years of my life either at war, or preparing for war. I did three tours in two sandboxes where I was neither comfortable nor secure for most of the time on those government sponsored trips. Every moment of those tours was in front line combat roles. Yes, I've been shot at! And more! So much more! I'm not bragging the point, but you seem to be aggressively fighting for the Greatest Knower of Human Suffering badge on this forum. I didn't even know it existed until I noticed you lusting after it. I guarantee you there are people on this forum who very much know what kind of human suffering there is in this world. The difference here is that we don't parade the stories we have deeply buried within us as badges of honor-suffering. We dream about them when we least expect it and do not like to relive it during the day. I could tell you stories that would scar part of your soul; but why would I do that?

You see, there's a pattern with your stories. There's always a victim of great nobility who seems to suffer cruelly at the hands of cartoonish villains. Are these characters you tell tall tales of not manifestations of your own internal struggles? Reflections of the injustices that you think you suffer? So you feel wronged by the world and tell stories to process your trauma? If so, please stick to pets and missionary tales, because when you wade into a very serious topic like this, with people who have connections to that world all around you, and you attempt to pull emotional strings with tall tales, the knowledgeable amongst us will have ringing bullshit detectors.

Speaking of your "friend", how would saying what town she lived in before she fled to 8 or 9 other countries be compromising anything? Surely there other residents of this cruelly bombed town? The fact that you just told us where she currently lives is far more compromising! And, speaking of her current locale, telling me that wearing a keffiyeh in public in a HIGHLY leftist political zone would get her shunned??? Girl, you need to tell less lies so you can keep track. I saw dipshits wearing keffiyehs all the time in Seattle as a fashion statement. There's no fucking way that wearing a keffiyeh in DC would get you shunned. There's definitely more to break down here, but I'm running out of time at present.

But this lady, boy, her tale could make quite a movie. You should be a screenwriter.

Of course the 2 jews were the first two to like this post!

Question, what do you think about the boundaries of freedom of speech in the following case?

California resident sues: DMV revoked license plate with 'from the river to the sea' slogan

A California resident is suing the state's Department of Motor Vehicles after her license plate reading 'RVRTSEA,' an abbreviation of the pro-Palestinian slogan 'from the river to the sea,' was revoked. Yasmin Abd al-Nabi, who received the personalized plate in May 2024, argues that its confiscation violates her right to free speech enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. The DMV ordered the plate returned following complaints from Jewish drivers who reported feeling fear and personally threatened. An administrative judge upheld the decision, ruling that the inscription could be interpreted as a call for genocide or incitement to violence. Abd al-Nabi denies that she intended to threaten or encourage violence and is asking a federal court to order the plate's return and affirm that the slogan is protected under free speech.

That's very surprising that it was revoked in CA. My opinion on whether or not that is fair would hinge on how that has been applied to other cases. It would seem reasonable to restrict a license plate that causes understandable outrage. Preventing road rage is in the public interest. Freedom of speech does not necessarily extend to things that are privileges and not actual rights. Driving is a privilege.

There is already plenty of restriction on license plates, this isn't a free speech issue.

Swear words, hate speech, violence, vulgarity, etc are all already disallowed. Go try and get FUKPOPO or EATNAZZ or N1663R or PSSYETR or anything of the like, and those will also be denied. And if you slip one through and they find it later, they'll disallow it and make you change it. This is nothing new.

If they really want that slogan so bad, they're welcome to get a bumper sticker. That would be a free speech issue.
