Tales of Everyday Life

I should add that while I like most of the people on that text thread (and many of them have already said they are in)... I can't stand the dude who is organizing all of this. He's in his early 50s and acts like he's still in high school (which is why his now ex-wife left him).

I guess I would be less irked by this if the text was, "hey, let's all go to Nashville and get fucked up a long weekend!" rather than, "hey, this is for our buddy, it's his official Bachelor party and if you miss it you'd really be letting him down"

For what it's worth, my wife thinks I'm overreacting and while she agrees it's ridiculous to hype it as a bachelor party... she has been saying all of us (well, 80% of the people on the text thread) should get together and catch up, so she isn't opposed to it. I disagree with her though, I think it's completely retarded and if the shoe was on the other foot and one of her retard friends sent out a text like that, I would think it was the dumbest thing ever.
If your wife is fine with it and it won't hurt your bank account, enjoy the trip, as gay as a "post wedding" bachelor party sounds. You will probably have a blast. They invited you, so go.
I've been on the other end, and that sucks and ended friendships.

The more I think about it, I'm thinking that the dude organizing it is going to attempt to screw the rest of us (minus my buddy) on the Vrbo or something along those lines so that it's cheaper/free for him.

I don't like him at all and I wouldn't put it past him to pull something like that.
Question: does your buddy (the alleged bachelor) know what's being planned, and if so is he ok with it? Me, personally - I wouldn't accept a second bachelor party, that's a 1 time event (for me).

I gotta clarify that with him.

It's clear he knows there is a plan for everyone to get together in Nashville in November.

It's unclear if he is aware that it's being billed as his bachelor party (13 months after his marriage became official)

All of this was completely out of left field to me. We had talked last week (Thursday 9/3) and not a word was mentioned. My guess is that he got hammered over the holiday weekend and this all arose on a whim between him and the dude attempting to organize it.

I'd feel more comfortable pulling the trigger financially if I hadn't just got KO'd with an unexpected property tax increase to go with the expected new tires and rear brakes on my car in the last 2 months... and I'll need to get front brakes (not to mention Christmas for the family) soon.

It's not a "I'll have to declare bankruptcy if I do this" situation, but it doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for unexpected financial burdens in the near future... and my family is going to have a shittier Christmas if I go.

This all would have been much better if it was being organized 4-6 months out... not within 7-8 weeks.

Well, sounds like you have your answer.
No reason for the wife and kid to have less because single 50s guy wants to get his nut off.

hell yeah, leave really early in the morning too. shut off the power and water on your way out. also make sure to disconnect the automatic stop on the ice maker so that bitch fills the entire freezer with ice cubes. oh - and squirt a giant glob of Dawn dishwashing soap on the bottom of the dishwasher so when the boys run it they have foam all over the kitchen floor.

I can find a way to fix the simple stuff most of the time but when it's the printer (any printer) and its fucking "support code ..." and it thinks something's stuck I can tear it apart clean everything and re-assemble like it's new but this fucking error won't stop

I even found a small butterfly in there that I cleaned up

Didn't help

Then just let it rest with no power

Turned it on after a while and it worked! Sent something to print then back to errors

Fuck this I give up
Delete the wifi connection and reinstall it using your wifi pw

So, went to play poker today at the local casino for a few hours before football started. Started at 10:00, by 11:30 or so we hadn't seen a cocktail waitress so I go to the central bar to get myself a beer. Dude I know sort of casually from around the poker room and a home game we both frequent, he walks up and we start chatting, he says "never say I didn't do anything for you" and buys my beer. Thanks, bro, good luck I'll see you at the tables. Somewhat uncharacteristic of him, he's known as kinda cheap and a bit of a deadbeat (word is he owes people all around town). I say thanks, we chat a bit more, then get back to work.

30 minutes later I glance over at his table and notice odd activity. Two giant cops and like 4 casino security, with a supervisor and a clipboard approaching his table. "Stand up. Put your hands behind your back right now." They cuff him and perp-walk him right out of the room, lol. Alrighty then.

He was slipping the dope to your beer before they catch him

Ha; I did expect them to come talk to me or something if they needed to check witnesses or something, but apparently they had everything they needed from the 87 cameras on you every second in a casino.
You're going to get a visit from some men in black tonight at 3 a m
