Triple M Junkie Idol Game thread

In my second choice, I’m curious if the judges have heard of this one?

^Not known in America or in the charts over there, but played in Guy Ritchies Rock n Rolla and is Nathaniel Woods walkout song. Played more in Europe and I thought @webble may have heard it but maybe not the others?
I might have had to check with DWD on this one. Never heard this remake by this band, but the original is extremely well known in the States, as is the Muddy Waters version-ish which was in a very popular 80's movie (Risky Business). I think the Yardbirds version even did/still gets some airplay stateside. So definitely no on this band, but definitely yes on all the myriad predecessors. So I'm thinking that's probably still a -5 but not sure.

cmvideo75: Pretty cool idea. Kind of reminds me of some of the old Pride walkouts. I'd walk to this if I had to, but it wouldn't get me too pumped up. Not much of a gamer so I never heard this before either. 6/10
@cmvideo75 got it.
My problem was, that @Brick never made it anywhere, where a walkout is longer than 3 seconds...
Should have known that..

This would have been my write up @thedarkwingduck2k11 did not accept as "title"

"Unfortunately for all of you, you did not clarify when this fight takes place.
And oh will you bet it will be the Pride finals in Japan
The Song AND VIDEO of this amazing cut scene (from 0:09 until exactly 1:21) starts playing.
in opposite to the judges who all have never heard this song before, the Fans in Japan have and they will go CRAZY
After 1:21 of this video the fighter gets jumped up with a spring board from underground, with a big bang and runs to the cage, so pumped up, they will stop producing steroids from now on, because this shit is just better.
For clarification.. the fighter obviously also saw the video underground.
This fight happens 2002 in Tokio by the way.
Biggest pride card ever. This cut scene was still one of the best back then... goosebumps guys (and Webbs) ... goosebumps.
I thank the judges for the 10 points and wish you nothing but the best"

There go 27 points down the drain..
Welp :P

@Brick and @goodcat1337

Thank you for your answers. You’ve taken the bait. “Rodriguez”, as he was known, was a Detroit based folk singer who had made two albums that were complete flops in the U.S. However, by circumstances still unknown to this day, his album “Cold Fact” (the album that contains the submission) made it to South Africa and became the anthem of the Anti-Apartheid movement. His music led to widespread social upheaval and was subsequently banned by the government - making him all the more mysterious. However, bootlegged copies continued to be circulated for the next twenty years unbeknownst to Rodriguez, whom was rumored to have died by lighting himself on fire on stage. The documentary “Searching for Sugar Man” covers two South Africans trying to find out the story of Rodriguez. It turns out he was just working construction in Detroit and had absolutely no idea.

So, a song that gets you hyped for a fight? People were throwing Molotov cocktails to this jam. Song you haven’t heard? Even Rodriguez didn’t even know people were listening to it. Why it was submitted? A mellow jam with a dark, violent history is terrifying.
Cool story bro. But none of that was the challenge/criteria here. Except the "did not hear" part.

Wow, did not know that.

I wonder how you'd have scored something like this?

may have picked something else in fear of anyone following baseball or the song known, just not all that crappy rock or metal that sounds the same. So that's a different style I would prefer

Without having to take the 5 points away, I honestly probably would have given it like a 9. It's definitely a good hype song. I hate the Mets, being a die hard Braves fan. But there's no denying that song is a legit banger.

While we have some time, let's interview 2x Junkie idol champion @Rhino78 . How does it feel to get back on the saddle again, against these young guns, my GOAT? Who do you think are your biggest threat here and do you think you can get your third title this year? Lastly, what do you think of the new elimination format?

@webble your cool
@cmvideo75 your cool
@Brick your cool
