And yes the plan was probably Khamzat vs Costa with their bad blood and such but with Khamzat losing that might knock Costa out of it as well

His immediate reaction was that considering how hard it must have been for him to "make weight"

And then he's changed his mind and fixated on rematching and beating Sean and he probably thinks he doesn't get an immediate title shot at 205 otherwise

So it depends what the UFC wants for Sean next I'd say

That fight at LHW makes sense from a business perspective and I think Costa would give him problems with his anti-grappling skills, very hard to take down and submit(just like Sean), but has the kicks and hands to make it competitive.

That's probably the fight to make and the winner can fight for the title
