Crete's Corner

Hey, interesting question. While not explicitely christian facing, bands like Paramore and Evanesance are christian bands who do rock music. Was this known and did they have a pass or were they regardless only degen generation bands.

At the time they came out, I didn't know these things, both bands missed the time they may have appealed to me. I thought both singers were legit talents but outside of key singles I didn't pay attention. Decades later I saw them talking similar points to "we were not christian rock, but we were always christians making rock"
I didn't know Amy Lee was a Christian doing Rock and they played her music all the time on our local stations.

Word! Yeah, they started in worship gigs iirc, but if I'm wrong about that, all the lyrics hit different in a christian manner. They are deffo a christian band, just not "christian rock"

Maybe it took crossing over to Europe, but we always knew they were christian rock, maybe they said they weren't directly?

Of course I could.
Dude, this is the shoot the shit, get to know each other better thread. Why be blunt like this here? Joke or not, Crete started this for real connection reasons

Well, it's Friday, and it's time for the cheat meal. Tonight I'm having a barbecue pork cuban sandwich with honeyed brussel sprouts and some fried cheese curds. A good one, I'm very excited.

But, my guiltiest culinary pleasure? Judge all you want, but gas station food. Gas station hot dogs, burgers, the taquitos, the pizza all that shit I just love. It's not GOOD, but idk, there's just something about it that just...mmmm. My absolute favorite is the gas station hotdogs. IDK why but something about that open air hot dog aquarium thing they cook in with a semi stale bun just makes them fuckin HIT like nothing else can.

Now, I'm not a World Cup or soccer fan, but I got a huge kick out of this past one when the videos were cropping up of foreign visitors experiencing the gas station experience like Buccees or Maverick or Kwik Star. Idk why, but I never quite realized that that experience I take for granted isn't universal.

So, today's Crete Thoughts #3: What is your favorite gas station food? OR, if you don't like it or are one of our foreign friends who doesn't have these gas station delights, what is your biggest culinary guilty pleasure?

I think Abb was goating/teasing Bucky since Bucky can write essays on topics...hence the "can you expand on this" part.
Buckey is my guy. Great writing and very thorough.
