Triple M Junkie Idol Game thread

I wonder if we feed AI past entries and the current ones anonymously it would match them all to the author correctly

.Hey Gemini, what is the most famous argument ever on the MMA junkie subform junkie TV movie idol?
You are thinking of the famous "Junkie TV/Movie Idol" tournament (or "Bracket Challenge") that was run years ago on the MMAjunkie (part of USA Today Sports) MMA Junkie off-topic forum, known as The Underground The Underground.
Back when these off-topic tournament games were highly active, users went head-to-head pitching characters for various crowns. When the "Best Sitcom Dad" bracket rolled around—and in subsequent "TV/Movie Idol" games where the genre came up—it caused absolute chaos.
Here are a few reasons why this particular tournament got users so fired up:
  • The Generation Clash: The forum had a massive demographic split. Older users fiercely championed traditional, authoritarian dads like Red Forman (That '70s Show) and Archie Bunker (All in the Family). Meanwhile, younger and Gen X posters passionately backed more modern or unconventional dads like Hal (Malcolm in the Middle) or Phil Dunphy (Modern Family).
  • The "Cool vs. Capable" Debate: Members debated heavily over whether a great TV dad should be the wisest, most moral figure (like Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Andy Taylor from The Andy Griffith Show) or someone who could actually hold his own and fight for the family (leading to intense campaigns for Al Bundy (Married... with Children) or Dan Conner (Roseanne)).
  • Aesthetic & Moral Arguments: Heated arguments broke out over the morality and actions of certain sitcom dads. Some users demanded characters like Cliff Huxtable be disqualified entirely due to the actions of the actor, while others fiercely debated whether Al Bundy actually deserved the "deadbeat" label or was just a hardworking, highly resilient family man. Oof. We weren't here for that one, but it really comes down to the wording of the question on whether Uncle Phil is a pick of genius or idiocy
Judging by some of their old threads we could learn a thing or two from how much they were going after each other in all those fantasy picks and junkie Idol games

Well the debate came in because it was best TV dad and someone entered 'Uncle Phil', so some idolers contested that an uncle is not dad. However he WAS a dad on the show.... just not to the Fresh Prince. Carlton and the 2 girls were his kids, so he was a dad.

This debate may have even surpassed Whitesnake levels.

but @cmvideo75 - most of you OGs have a dad who is also an uncle.

Hope that clears it up. TTYL pal!
